Azhar Academy
Established in 1996, founded by Hadhrat Shaykh Maulana Yusuf Motala, rector and Shaikh al-Hadith of Darul Uloom Bury, the Azhar Academy aims to promote Islamic education and an understanding of Islam among the Muslim and wider non-Muslim community. It is strategically placed in South and East London, and is providing a unique range of previously unavailable services to the suburban areas of the capital city and the South East, now the gateway to Europe.

The Projects…

1. Girls School
The Academy has established a much needed Islamic Secondary Girls School in East London where within a 10 mile radius approx. over 200,000 Muslims are residing (The Muslim News, 28/02/03). Alhamdulillaah with the great blessing of Allah(swt) and generous financial assistance from brothers and sisters, the school started in September 2003. Furthermore we will be building a Masjid and an Islamic reference library on the same site, Insha-Allah. This school project is a unique service for our daughters and future generations. It is through education that our children will learn about their Deen, Attain morals and discipline and retain their true identity.

2. Grange Farm
In October 2002, an opportunity became available to purchase a site near the Lakeside shopping centre. Alhamdulillaah a successful bid of £650,000 was made at the auction, and immediately funds were raised mainly by taking interest free loans Qardha Hasanah from individuals and businessmen. Masha-Allaah, the site is approx 29 acres which includes a grade 2 listed six bedroom house, 40+ horse stables, a large car park and various other shed type of buildings. Therefore, this site definitely has development potential.Grange Farm holds much promise and potential because of the availability of excellent facilities nearby. there is easy access to London via A13 and A12, and to the capital's major airports, Gatwick, Stanstead and Heathrow. The M25, junction 30 and 31, is only 4 miles away.The nearby Grange Waters has a variety of recreational activities like canoeing, archery, rock climbing, cycling and many others. A country park is also close by. The Lakeside shopping centre is less than five minutes away and the Blue Water Shopping Centre is within close proximity. Grange Farm is a unique site offering an exciting and exceptional opportunity .

We sincerely and kindly request everyone to generously assist us with a significant financial contribution that will help us towards the completion of the girls school project or assist us repay the Qardha approximately £1 million, which we borrowed for the development of the School and the purchase of the Grange Farm.
