Qutubul Irshaad, Imaam-e-Rabbaani, Hadhrat Moulana Rasheed Ahmad Gangohi (rahmatullahi alayh) was sent as a Mujaddid in the last century to protect and preserve the Deen of Islam. Hadhrat Moulana lived in a time when Shia influence governed the empire and they sunk their roots deeply into India. The entire country was drowning in Bid'ah practices and the mazaars of the Awliyaa became a target of all kinds of innovations. Hadhrat Moulana Gangohi (rahmatullahi alayh) had to steer the ship of Islam through all this chaos and bring it carefully into safe waters. This was no easy task but Hadhrat Moulana's trust in Allah Ta'ala was such that no matter what odds he faced, his reliance, dependence and faith was firmly entrenched in Allah Ta'ala alone.
Today, whatever good work of Deen we see in India in the form of Madaaris, Khanqahs and the effort of Da'wat and Tableegh is a result of the fruits of the efforts of Hadhrat Moulana Rasheed Ahmad Gangohi (rahmatullahi alayh). Reading this biography shows us how this great personality lived his life in the obedience of Allah Ta'ala and in emulation of the mubaarak Sunnah of Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam).
This book in your hands is a feeble attempt to try and encapsulate the biography of this great saint hoping that it will be an inspiration for the Ulama and the Awaam (general masses) to also try and follow in his blessed footsteps. Our future generations must know who our elders were and what effort and sacrifice they made for Deen to reach us. We are the spiritual children of these great elders. They are the people responsible for protecting the Deen of Allah Ta'ala and His beloved Nabi Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wasallam).
